2 Young Cambodian Couple Families Emerging in Kurdistan...

This is my second year in Sulaymaniyah. For the last few months 2 of Cambodian working here got married in Cambodia. Now these 2 couples are now in Suly. This evening of 21st of February (Meakabochea Day in Cambodia) at 7:00PM we all are invited to a dinner by Soveng's family.

To Be Considered Or To Be Decided?

I had worked for Huawei for 2 years since 2002 until 2004. After then I was offered a contract to work for Asiacell in Iraq through UK-based agency as a contractor for 4 months since Nov 2004 until March 2005. The top management of Huawei offered me another chance to join Huawei again after my return from Iraq. After I worked for one year for Huawei again, Asiacell directly contacted me to offer one year contract as VAS consultant and then I decided to join Asiacell as second time as one-year contract-based contractor. Currently I'm working for Asiacell and my contract will end at the end of March this year. However Asiacell would be willing to renew me a contract for another one year and Wataniya Maldives is also tending to offer me a job as VAS consultant for 2 year contract through UK-based agency too. At the same time I also applied for IN/VAS Engineer poistion for Alcatel-Lucent in Cambodia. There was a question raised by Alcatel-Lucent as follows: "It is quite vague who he actually works for since a few months in Hua Wei, and then to Asia Cell, and then back to Hua Wei after a few months, and than back to Asia Cell after a few months. Is he an independent subcontractor who Hua Wei and Asia Cell hire on a short term assignment bassis? If yes, which agency is he attached to?". Everything is being taken into consideration, and it has not been confirmed yet.

It's not hard to answer such a question and everyone would think like me, it is because of the chance which will decide the future. Our future and chances are in our hands; you do not take a decision on it no one will make it for you... Alright everyone has his/her own choice.

For about 1 year and half that I have never posted any article to my blog. I'm very sorry for that I did not make this happend. During these 2 years many things have been changed and of course you have never heard anything new about me. You're probably thinking that I was busy with family life. Feel Sleepy On Weekend Day...

Yesterday evening, after work, I bought six bottles of Hite beer and I kept it in my refrigerator. After finish preparing everything in my room I stepped down to Bâng Phearun's room to see whether what I can give a helping hand to the cooks.

We chitchatted and Bâng Phearun started to ask me whether there were some beer to drink. Immediately I walked upstairs to my room to bring 4 bottles of beer to his room. Dinner also started at the same time. We ate our dinner as well as drank beer; 2 bottles for each [only Bâng Phearun and me that drank]. We were talkative after completing them and Bâng Phearun asked for my room key to take other 2 bottles of Hite and we continued drinking and talking until 12:40 AM. I was drunk and went to bed a bit late!

Up to now I do not still feel fresh and I feel sleepy! Luckily today we only work for half day and I would better return home soon to eat, drink [soft drinks] and sleep in this afternoon!

Here in Kurdistan [Suly] there is a variety of beers and wines but I don't like wine it would affect the health if you drink much which is different from beer. It is very good if you choose not to drink beer; it is not good for health!

Today we went to Chinese restaurant for lunch by taxi and I felt not well on the way there because I'm cold. We were invited by Huawei Chinese staffs who invited solely Bâng Phearun for lunch at Dragon Restaurant as well. We would like to thank them for their welcome and kindness! While writing this blog I feel so sleepy because I know that I'm going to work tonight! Luckily tomorrow will be holiday for us so I can take more rest! Bon Weekend!

Spiritual Smile Of A Sport Man

Looking at the picture that I took after football match against Mobitel reminds me funny activities during the party. Even though the final score embarrassed our Huawei team but we are not serious about that but sure good relationship means important for us as an employee of Huawei in Cambodia Representative Office. Everyone really enjoyed that occasion; we laughed and drank and felt so exhausted after match which was held in Prek Leap Agriculture Secondary School's football field (actually soccer). Because of ninety minute match we really wanted to recharge so Huawei team was pleased to invite Mobitel Team for the party together with Chinese and Malaysian staffs from HQ and regional office.

The party was a real pleasure for us; I was one among all that was satisfied with the party. I drank a lot but I'm sorry to tell you that I ate less [Sic!]. I can tell you that it is my habit but I will try to change that before you tell me that you should change. I was taken many photos and I prefer to show you here the man of the day, getting drunk and started smiling to look for lover [Nho Nhem Rok Snè]. Sweet smiling does not mean he is a good man such as me, for example, you agree? Many girls would say "Noop" but I'm sure, as a man, the expected answer from you is "Yeah"...ha ha.

The earth and time move very quickly and many things have been changed and will keep changing, who knows? I left Huawei again in April 2006 for the sake of shifting from one working environment to another and experiencing my own life. Will this happiness still remain and keeping close to us? I really need your answer!

Feel Like Home..New Restaurant At Beyza!

Many months we have been through and it was really hard time for us to manage meal everyday! When I first came here I cooked with our chef Sothon, my roles just wished up and cooked the rice. We frequently go out for lunch and dinner in restaurants including Kurdish restaurant and Chinese restaurant. However we must pay much money than having meal at home!

Three months later (at the end of June) after my arrival in Suly in April our national newcomers Bâng Chum and Kheang came to work in Asiacell too and Bâng Chum is extremely good chef then and Kheang is very good at frying eggs with salty fish breed brought from Cambodia! My parents packed me kilos of dried big beef steak, dried fish and Trey Phat with which I enjoy these stuffs with our nationals for meal (not always [Sic!]). Thanks to our managing Bâng Phearun we can prepare our meal and his room but he does not bear everything for us because everyone that needs to have meal (breakfast & dinner) together is required to pay USD20 every two weeks. From my personal thinking we are having a good family and I start to feel like home but not like in Cambodia [Can you find the reason why?]. I'm going to label Bâng Phearun's room as "Chum Run Restaurant" or "Prâchum Khvas Run Restaurant" in Khmer. How long will it last? This name will be soon revised after we move to Bâng Chum's kitchen! The deal will be discussed with Bâng Phearun when his wife returns back to Cambodia!
I think that, after moving to Bâng Chum's, it will not be never and ever shifted to another one again! FYI

By the way Bâng Chum, Kheang and I are worrying is that, for the shortcoming days, when Bâng Phearun's family (his wife) comes along with him to Suly after his vacation we will be kicked out from his kitchen and move probably to Bâng Chum's kitchen instead. He will have meal with his lovely family then in Beyza. From this almost everyone here starts to think about getting married and having his own wife along so that she can cook for and serve him better! Don't worry ladies if your husband is here he will be a perfect guy because there is no night club, no beer garden and no chick [Sic!] here!

Long Waiting Until December, 4 Months Ahead

I have just been here in Sulymani for one week after my first vacation of my second contract. By the way time seems to pass very slowly here and I start to feel complicated about many things in life from day to day staring from being lonely to couple life, ha ha...

Life over here is quiet and calm because you cannot find any beer garden or night club for nigh life like in our Cambodia [Sic!]. In addition to this people here are friendly and they welcome foreigners like us. I have been provided with many supports by my local colleagues and I'm glad to have the chance to work in Suly and with them. Thanks to them I would not feel unhappy sometimes.

Thanks to all my friends in Cambodia for their time to let me chitchat through direct phone calls or by messengers. Special thanks to my friends SEM Kourk, Rachana and Vitou for their valuable time to manage to do many things on my behalf in Cambodia. Prosperous bless to all of them and their families and I wish them for the ones that are still single up to now to find a very lovely girl of their own, and get married soon :-)!

I long to let the working period of four months pass very quickly and to see all of you again including married and single ones.

Journey & Life For Second Contract Period April 2006

On March 28 2006 I left Cambodia For Iraq. I stayed in Thailand for 2 nights and I departed to Istanbul on March 30 2006. The domestic flight from Istanbul to Diyarbakir was missed and our Thai friends and I flew from Istanbul to Ankara then from Ankara to Diyarbakir. We arrived Diyarbakir late at noon so we decided to stay one night in Class Hotel. Early morning next day we 5 left for Turkish-Iraqi border. We arrived Suly at about 8:00 PM local time. I signed contract with 3-month probation period on 2nd of April in Talarikawa main office.During the whole 3 months I did not cook in my own kitchen but in Sothon’s one. Sothon acts as a chef and I washed up and cook the rice sometimes.
